Pre-Release Giveaway -#1

In a few short days my September 1 release, INTO THE WILD, hits the shelves. To celebrate, I'm giving away a few copies over the next week via this blog, Facebook, and my newsletter. Today's giveaway takes place right HERE!

First, a blurb about the story....

This is one call she can’t resist…

When River Kane's fiancé abandons her at the altar for being too conventional, she's heartbroken. But everything changes when her estranged archaeologist father sends her his journal—filled with cryptic maps and a note indicating he's in mortal danger. Worried, River faces her greatest fears and flies to the Amazon to find him. But she needs a guide. Someone completely unlike danger-seeker Spenser McGraw.

A charismatic treasure hunter who thrives on risk, Spenser hosts the popular TV show Into the Wild, dedicated to locating lost treasures and mythical icons. But River's father's life depends on discretion, and too-sexy Spenser is all about publicity. Forced to team up, they embark on a jungle adventure ripe with temptation and danger…ultimately discovering a hidden treasure that could alter history—and a steamy love neither expected.

Hi,

I think I would have to pick Jewel of the Nile or Romancing the Stone. Both great adventures with fun romance thrown in.

Can't wait for the release of Into the Wild!

Hi Beth,

Do old classics count? Cause I don't think they come much better than the African Queen. Bogart & Hepburn - sigh - 'nough said!

I'm so looking forward to reading Into the Wild! Have yet to be disappointed reading your books.

Romancing The Stone will always have a place in my heart. For newer releases, I love Mr and Mrs Smith or Bandits. (oh, shoot, that's three movies!)

It's the Mummy movies for me. I love Egypt.

Hi, Elle,

Romancing the Stone is a huge fave of mine. I've seen it dozens of times. Unfortunately, for me, Jewel of the Nile didn't hold ip qite as well over time. But I still think Turner and Douglas made a smokin' hot couple!

Hi Anne!

Always love hearing from you. Hope all is well in your world.

African Queen is a classic for good readn! Would you believe I only first saw it a couple of years ago? Bogie and Hepburn rocked!

Berinn... LOVE RTS. Also adore Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Talk about chemistry! Not sure I'm familiar with Bandits. Who's in it?

Hey BJ,

Ooh. I lovvvvve the Mummy movies, but especially the 1st one. I, too, love Egypt, but I especially loved the corny, clever banter between the hero and heroine. Frasier and Weisz were adorable!

Hello Beth,

I would have to say The Mask of Zorro. Antonio Banderas is H*O*T!!!
Beth Ciotta said…
Awesome movie, Jennie! I haven't thought about that one in awhile. What about the scene where they first meet in the barn. The sword fight? S-e-x-y!

This book sounds great! My absolute favorite adventure romance is The Princess Bride. It's got everything. I read the book when I was 15 and in London on a school trip, and that added to the magic of the story. Of course, having Carey Elwes never hurts any film!

Good luck with your latest release!

Beth -
Bandits is a very funny non-traditional romance since it involves a menage a trois of Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton and Cate Blanchett. I love it because the girl actually gets both guys, and it's just hilarious.
Berinn said…
Katrina - I just saw your post. How could I forget! Yes, The Princess Bride is simply the best romance of all time. Thanks for bringing it up!

I loved Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile, I definitely think they are some of the best movies out there for romantic adventure. On a more current note I really enjoyed Knight and Day, I thought that Tom Cruise really pulled of the romantic comedy aspects, and the action scenes were fantastic!

No problem, Berinn!

I love both of the "National Treasure" Movies. I especially enjoy the character of "Riley" played by Justin Bartha. He is adorable and makes me laugh! These are movies that both my husband and I will agree on. I get my romance and comedy yet there is still enough suspense to keep my husband entertained. I am so happy that you have a new release coming out. Congratulations! I can't wait to read it. Lately, I have been getting my books on my kindle, but your book cover art is so vibrant and appealing that I may buy the actual book! I can still recall that red apple on OUT OF EDEN!

Romancing the Stone has to be one of the all-time best romantic adventure movies. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention American Dreamer. LOVE that movie!
Beth Ciotta said…
Wow!! Look at all these great additions!

Tanya, I haven't seen River of No Return. I'll have to look that up.

Katrina, sooo glad you think INTO THE WILD sounds fun. I sure had a blast writing it. As for The Prncess Bride. LOVE IT! One of my faves for sure. Soooo many great lines! And yes, Cary Elwes sure is easy on the eyes. ;)

Berinn, I actually adore Bruce Willis. I'll have to check out Bndits. Thanks!

Becky... I haven't seen Knight and Day, but I want to. I love the concept and the previewslooked really cute. Thanks for the reminder!

Mary, like you, I really liked both National Treasure movies. Sequels so rarely measureup, but I thought this one did. AS you said both mixed up romance and adventure really well. As for INTO THE WILD, guess what? It'll be avail on Kindle too. From one Kindle junkie to another. ;)

Tori, I agree about what you said about Romancing the Stone. :) As for American Dreamer, I don't know it. Who's in it?
