On the Fly--Delayed but Not Forgotten

Today is my husband's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEVE!

Unfortunately, he has to work all day and I'm emceeing a sweepstakes tonight. The plan is to celebrate tomorrow. Our idea of celebrating is eating breakfast out and then later that night, snuggling on the couch to watch a movie while enjoying a bottle of champagne. Heaven.

How do you like to celebrate your birthdays?

A friend and I call our birthdays our "pensive" days because they're the perfect occassion to sit around and take stock of our lives. Her Pensive Day is Friday, better get a card in the mail. Thanks for the reminder, lol!

Happy Birthday Steve! All the best on this wonderful day.

Yes Beth, Laurie and I were at BEA. Sorry, we missed you. Wow, we have a reputation...Yahoo!!! Adam was adorable. We love him.

BEA was so hot, so many people, so many books and we can't wait to do it again. It was great.

Happy Birthday Steve!
I try to take the day off on my birthday if it's at all possible. (When I was a teacher usually my summer vacation had just begun; as a realtor I take the day off unless I have a closing). Then, I sit around and read a new book by a favorite author and eat junk food like fritos. We go out to eat at night And our kids (23 & 20) join us if they're around (usually they'll have dinner with us but they have a busier social life than Jeff and I do!)and then we watch a DVD.

Happy birthday, Steve! Hmm... it's a little tricky celebrating exactly how I'd like these days (the kids are still a bit young and not entirely cooperative ;)) If I had my druthers, I'd spend the day taking a nap and reading something fun :)

"Pensive" days. That's interesting, Jen. Gee. I've been 'taking stock' lately and it's not even my birthday! :)

Elsie, yes, indeed, you and Laurie ARE famous. Adam thought you were both delightful. I'm bummed I missed you at BEA. Glad to hear you had fun, in spite of the sauna temps, and that you plan to attend again. Next time we'll have to make a plan to meet!

Roni, you're birthday celebrations sound fun! I haven't had FRITOS in years. Suddenly I have a craving....

fichen1... I'd kill for a nap and a good read ANY day. LOL Hoping you get that birthday wish next time around. :)

Or is that flchin1? Can't tell if the second letter is an 'i' or an 'l'. Crap. Don't tell me I need new glasses? Although that would mean a new pair of frames. :)

Happy Birthday Steve!
My birthday usually is spent with the kids during the day and then my parents watch the kids at night so my DH can take me out to a nice dinner and maybe a movie,if we're not to stuffed that we want to just fall asleep after.*g* Hugs
