Be Safe, Have Fun!

I'm expecting very low traffic here today. I'm thinking most of you (at least those living in the U.S.) are out and about. It's a holiday weekend afterall. Most of you are probably having cook-outs and picnics, or maybe splashing and sunning at the beach or staking out a primo spot to watch a parade. Tonight mostly everyone will be watching fireworks.

I have no plans other than taking advantage of a totally free weekend to write. The story is going very well, so it's an exciting phase just now. As far as the fourth of July, I'm thinking I'll break at some point for a hot dog, maybe dazzle the dogs and cat by waving a sparkler around. Do they still make those?

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I wish you a safe and fun weekend! Enjoy!

Beth, I think I'll use a day off to rest, watch movies, and hopefully write. I used to love to go watch fireworks. No fireworks this time for me!

Stop it stop it stop it!!!

England is in the grip of a gorgeous heat wave, and I'm inside trying to write a paper! ARGH!

(Okay, so right now I'm procrastinating at your place, but, really...)

Outside I can hear Husband trimming the grass on the front verge. It's. Not. Fair.

;-)

Feeling your pain, Anna. Well, maybe not totally. Is that paper for work or school? Either way, blech. It wouldn't be quite as bad if the writing were for your own creative works.

A heat wave in England, eh. How hot would that be? Normally it's pretty mild over there, right. I was checking temps in Cantebury (you know my deal with that town) and it seemed to average in the 70s all summer. Here we get in the the 90s!

Hope you're able to get out a bit today.

My plans for my day off on the 4th include finishing the clearing out of kitchen cabinets in preparation for the Great Remodel. I want to write on the w-i-p. At night, my porch is the perfec viewing spot for the city's fireworks show, so I will hope for good weather. Perhaps I'll watch while I soak in the hot tub!

Speaking of remodeling one's kitchen, Mary, make sure you hop over to Anna Lucia's blog. She and her husband just totally transformed theirs. The before and after pics are great.

Soaking in a hot tub while watching the fireworks? Now that's a great plan!

Speaking of WIPs.... I wrote nine pages yesterday, and I'm on a like roll today. I'm on happy camper, or, er, homebody. *g*

Happy 4th of July, everyone.

Since Friday night and every night after that, around my neighborhood the fireworks are great.

Today, is family get together BBQ to celebrate Mom's B'day. Yahoo!

Fireworks every night of the weekend, Elsie? That's exciting. I bet you'll have a doozy of a display on July 4. Can you see the NYC display from where you are?

Have a great time at the BBQ and tell your mom that the gang at Beth's blog says, "Happy Birthday!"

Happy Fourth of July. I have no plans either beyond edits. :( A hotdog doesn't sound bad, but I doubt I can talk dh into buying some. He HATES them. Must be a British thing. *wg*

I'm partial to turkey dogs myself, Jordan. Veggi dogs aren't bad either. Not that I hardly ever indulge, but Fourth of July always makes me think of hot dogs and hamburgers. Since hubby's from across the pond I don't suppose he goes in much for July 4th anyway, eh? :) Hope the edits are going well!!

Thanks Beth. Mom had a great day with the family. Fun was had by all. Sister Dear and the kid provided fireworks along with the neighbors, who also had a BBQ, which included all the towns "law enforcement officers".

The firework display, in my neighborhood, has been provided by the neighbors. We are 45 mins. from the Hudson River in order to the Macy's Fireworks display. It's been a long time since I've seen it in person, now, I watch it on TV.
